Nat Cummins (she/they) is a Berlin-based music industry consultant with over 15 years’ experience working across recorded music, publishing, and artist development.

They have held senior roles at EMI Records, Ministry of Sound, SoundCloud, and most recently as Senior Label Manager at CloudKid, where they worked closely with independent artists on release strategy, rights management, and long-term career planning. Their background spans copyright and licensing, business affairs, label operations, and artist and tour management, giving them a practical, end-to-end understanding of how the music industry actually works behind the scenes.

Nat is the founder of Red Tape Music, an artist-first label and services platform built on transparency, fair deals, and sustainable growth. Alongside running Red Tape, Nat works independently as a consultant, advisor, and speaker, supporting artists, managers, labels, and organisations who want clear, ethical guidance without the usual gatekeeping.

As a neurodiverse, queer, and working-class professional, Nat brings a grounded and inclusive perspective to the music business. Their work focuses on helping artists and teams make informed decisions, retain control of their rights, and build careers that are financially viable as well as creatively fulfilling. This can include contract and licensing support, release and campaign planning, strategic advice, or simply translating industry systems that are often needlessly opaque.

Nat is also committed to education and knowledge-sharing. Through panels, talks, and their writing, they advocate for accessible, jargon-free resources and pay-what-you-can learning, particularly for artists who have been historically excluded from industry networks.
